Adoption of Village

Every three years, the college adopts a new village and undertakes activities focused on its development. NSS volunteers help spread awareness about cleanliness, digital literacy, health, education and community welfare.

Activities include free medical camps, social and economic surveys, awareness campaigns related to drinking, smoking and AIDS, literacy initiatives, and cleaning school and temple premises.

A special seven-day camping program is organised every year in the adopted village. Volunteers, teachers and villagers work together to improve local surroundings and encourage self-reliance and community participation.

Activities During the Seven-Day Camp

  • School Cleanliness: Volunteers and teachers cleaned the premises of Z. P. Marathi School (Government), Tajpuri, where the camp was held. They collected litter, plastic cups and other waste to keep the school clean and tidy.
  • Village Cleanliness and Awareness: Participants cleaned areas around the village panchayat, temples and bus stops by collecting rubbish and sweeping. Students also raised awareness about cleanliness, self-reliance and self-motivation.
  • Tree Plantation: On the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, volunteers planted trees such as mango, tamarind, guava and lemon at different locations in the village.
  • School Beautification: Volunteers decorated the premises of the government school with colourful decorations to improve its appearance.
  • Educational Lectures: Lectures were conducted on disaster management, health, the environment, water management and rural development.
Digital financial literacy program

Digital Financial Literacy Program

A significant share of India's population lives in rural areas and small towns, where access to financial knowledge and digital services can be limited. Godhatma aims to help bridge this gap by promoting digital financial literacy among people in underserved rural communities.

As part of this initiative, high school students of Elite School learn how to use digital payments, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and online banking services confidently and responsibly.

Topics Covered

  • Digital payments and online transactions using UPI
  • Bank account opening and types of bank accounts
  • NEFT and electronic fund transfers
  • Basic information about loan processes
  • Fixed deposits and banking services
  • Government schemes offered through banks

The program aims to build knowledge, confidence and practical skills so that students can make informed financial decisions.

Nurturing Nature Program

Trees play a vital role in protecting the environment, especially in an era of global warming and climate change. Godhatma's Nurturing Nature Program encourages environmental responsibility through regular tree plantation and care.

Every year, the institution plants trees with the support of the Gram Panchayat in school campuses and locations near villages.

Students are encouraged to look after the planted trees and nurture them as they grow. This initiative helps develop environmental awareness, responsibility and a lasting commitment to nature among young people.

  • Annual tree plantation activities
  • Participation of students and local communities
  • Care and maintenance of planted trees
  • Environmental awareness among students

Youth for Social Change

NSS – National Service Scheme

Students participating in community service

Building Responsible Citizens Through Service

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a major youth development initiative in India that promotes the spirit of voluntary service among students and teachers through sustained interaction with the community.

NSS provides students with opportunities to understand social challenges, participate in community welfare and develop leadership, teamwork and civic responsibility.

Through village development activities, cleanliness drives, environmental initiatives, awareness campaigns and special camps, students learn the value of service and contribute to the well-being of society.

Why Is NSS Important?

NSS connects education with real-life community experiences. It encourages students to become socially aware, disciplined, compassionate and active citizens who contribute positively to their communities and the nation.
